Dodekasisos Seaways was founded in 1999 by George and Yiannis Spanos.
People can travel from one Dodecanese island to the other and back in a single day. Thus, even the residents of the most isolated Dodecanese islands, such as Nisyros, Kastelorizo and Halki, can get connected to the other bigger islands or can receive tourists that will support their economy.
Erturk Travel and Shipping
Erturk Travel and Shipping was established in 1960 in Izmir Turkey. At first, it was carrying passengers and vehicles between Turkey and Greece.
However, in the late 70s and early 80s, with the increase of tourism development in both countries, it set up a ferry connection between the Greek island of Chios and the port of Cesme, close to Izmir, the third largest town in Turkey.
